The Oak and the Cypress
"Jonathan’s piece was the ideal end to our wedding ceremony. It was romantic and exuberant, and cleverly worked in extracts from two well-known wedding tunes. We are delighted to recommend Jonathan as a composer."

A Marselisborg Lullaby
"We wanted a piece that combined our daughter's current favourite songs. We hoped that this would be a great birthday present for her now and in the future, and for all of us to remember her toddler-singing. I had heard Jon's previous commission pieces and knew he was the right person for us. The process was swift and felt inclusive with Jon writing at a level of playing that we could try ourselves and readily taking account of our requests. I find the resulting piece engaging and beautiful. I cannot recommend him highly enough."
Catherine Williams (March 2020) who commissioned a short and easy piano piece for her daughter's birthday and created the beautiful sketch that accompanies the recording.
Sonnet 116: Let me not to the marriage of true minds
"When planning our ceremony we knew that we wanted to include something entirely unique. After hearing samples of Jonathan’s work, we decided to commission our own composition to set the mood for the signing of the register. We both love Shakespeare’s Sonnet 116, so we asked him to set this as a song for Tim’s cousin to sing, accompanied by our friends on the viola and cello. Despite the unusual request, Jonathan responded with a heartfelt work of great artistic integrity. Thank you so much for helping to make our wedding day so special."
Tim and Jenny (married August 12th 2014)
Instrumentation: soprano, viola and cello
Performed: signing of the register

Film score: Missed opportunity
"Collaborating with Jonathan on this score was a pleasure indeed. He was able to create this with very little direction or information, delivering a high quality product with his own style and vision within a short time frame. His communication was quick and succinct and his overall approach was very professional. I look forward to working with him in the future."
